MODERN SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING STATEMENT


Introduction
Elezi Construction is a multi-disciplined building and civil engineering organisation operating across a range of sectors throughout the UK. Most of our work is focused in and around London, the Home Counties, South East, South West, and the West Midlands.

This statement outlines the approach Elezi Construction Ltd and its subsidiary companies have taken to address modern slavery, as well as the actions planned for the financial year 2024–2025.

Scope
This statement applies to all individuals acting on behalf of Elezi Construction, including employees at all levels, directors, consultants, contractors, agency workers, and members of our supply chain.

Our Commitment
Elezi Construction is committed to sourcing goods, services, and labour without causing harm or coercion. We actively work to ensure that our employees, affiliates, and supply chain partners are not subjected to forced or bonded labour, or human trafficking, and that they are paid at or above the UK national minimum wage.

We fully acknowledge our responsibilities under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and strive to align all our operations and business practices with the Act’s principles. The CEO and Board of Directors are responsible for ensuring that every staff member understands their personal role in preventing slavery and trafficking, and that our internal policies support and enforce these efforts.

Modern Slavery Risk Assessment
We recognise that the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking can exist throughout our operations. We have identified two primary areas of concern:

Our supply chain – primarily based in the UK and EU, but which may include goods/services sourced globally.
Our workforce – including directly employed and subcontracted personnel, particularly those in short-term, mobile, or manual labour roles.

Our Response to Modern Slavery
We have adopted a multi-layered strategy to identify and mitigate the risks of modern slavery within our organisation. Key actions taken this year include:

Quarterly Board-level reviews of our risk register to ensure visibility of modern slavery risks and oversight of mitigation efforts.
Implementation of a revised onboarding and induction programme, with mandatory modern slavery awareness training for all new employees.
Hosting a 3-hour Modern Slavery virtual training session via the Supply Chain Sustainability School (SCSS) in February 2024, with another session scheduled for October 2024.
Marking Anti-Slavery Week in October by promoting awareness internally through our company intranet and other communication channels.
